His His Reveals Bold New Track “Winter Journal”

His His’ second single, “Winter Journal,” is most easily defined by the Portuguese word “saudade”, a feeling of longing and melancholy.

His His is the project of Toronto-based artist Aidan Belo. Combining delicate guitar lines with simple yet thoughtful vocals, Belo created this project as an outlet after relocating to his family’s hobby farm outside of the city, in an attempt to evoke something rural and honest.

Erica Knox Reveals “Running Inside Of My Brain”

In the midst of collaborating her new sound, 24 year old singer-songwriter Erica Knox is set to showcase herself in 2021 with music that you won’t be able to forget. From upbeat excitement to mellow nostalgia, her self-portrayed intimate lyrics tackle themes of love, life, and identity.

Produced by Kadeema’s Tal Vaisman, Knox’s new single, “Running Inside Of My Brain,” came from a relationship that shouldn’t have worked out from the very beginning. From start to finish, there were so many red flags and obvious signs that were ignored. It’s not worth losing yourself to be with someone else, no matter how good the ending could be.

Favourite Daughter Shares Dreamy Single + Video for “Long Distance’

Montreal-based singer/songwriter Favourite Daughter (Julia Kennific) is a queer artist who pulls inspiration from across the indie alternative rock spectrum. She combines gut-wrenching vulnerable lyricism, soaring vocals and ear worm hooks in her own corner of dreamy pop rock.

Debut single, “Long Distance,” is about trying to keep up appearances that everything’s fine, while running from the inevitable. An upbeat indie pop song, “Long Distance” slowly progresses into an anxiety inducing number until its eventual explosion in the final chorus.

Mo Kenney Shares “Hard on You”

Mo Kenney has just released the third offering from her upcoming collection of cover tracks. Daniel Romano’s version of “Hard On You” conjures a frustrated snarl, while Kenney’s lonesome, unadorned take captures the psychic exhaustion of dealing with human fallibility and protecting loved ones, using nothing but earthy acoustic fingerpicking and her weary, raspy voice.

“Hard On You” follows “Game of Pricks” (“a fittingly stripped-back and haunting number for these times” says Indie88) and Mo’s lonesome Patsy Cline classic, “You Belong To Me.”

Brendan is hard at work with Canadian producer James Bunton (Donovan Woods, Joey Landreth) on his next album to be released in April.
