Darwin Deez Releases Free Willy Wonka-Sampled Rap Mixtape

Photobucket

Darwin Deez has been incredibly busy lately, having spent much of the last year releasing incredibly infectious and off-kilter pop songs, while winning acclaim for his eponymous freshman album, which is set to release in the U.S. on February 22, via Lucky Number. Deez has sold out numerous shows- winning over audiences across the world, and surely becoming one of the most offbeat and cherished pop stars in recent memory. So how does an artist go about following up such epic feats?

Well, when you’re Darwin Deez, you go back to the studio and create a full length rap mixtape called Wonky Beats– created entirely from samples from the 1971 surrealist children’s classic “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” of course.

For the new project, Deez recruited friends like Dev Hynes, KOOL AD from Das Racist, and Chiddy Bang. In addition to downloading the entire mixtape for free, five lucky winners will also find inside their zip folder a Golden Ticket- redeemable for the grand prize, a lifetime supply of Darwin Deez music, as well as tickets to local Darwin Deez headlining shows.

Take a listen to one of Wonky Beats‘ catchiest tracks, “Where’s The Chocolate” by clicking here.

On top of all of this excitement, Darwin Deez is also taking to the road this month- check out the full list of tour dates below:
